Frances Robinson – Freelance Journalist

Hello! I went freelance in 2015 after four years covering the EU and Belgium for the Wall Street Journal in Brussels. Since then, I’ve written for publications including Politico, The Guardian, New Statesman and The Spectator. I write about subjects including Brexit, Eurovision, travel (particularly trains!) and food and drink.

I also do copywriting work for a number of companies — do get in touch if you’d like to see some of my work for them.

I love getting a debate started and have moderated panels for clients from the OECD in Paris to the EU Digital Assembly in Latvia, and am happy to coach you or your organisation in moderating and public speaking as well. Feedback on my work is here. My radio and TV appearances include Sky News, RTBF, CNBC, BBC News Channel and BBC World Service.

At WSJ, my role involved everything from interviewing Prime Ministers to urban safaris in post-industrial Belgium.  I previously worked for AFX in Brussels and then covered the European Central Bank in Frankfurt for Bloomberg.  My beat included the Eurozone crisis, tech and telecoms, and the fascinatingly complex world of Belgian politics.
